President Mayme K. Hostetter鈥檚 inauguration on Thursday, Nov. 6 was more than a historic milestone. It highlighted the collaboration and dedication that make 老九品茶 special.
Planning began in July, when the inaugural steering committee and two subcommittees were formed to bring the day鈥檚 vision to life. Months of preparation and teamwork across campus made the celebration seamless and meaningful.
The facilities staff groomed campus grounds, power-washed and painted key spaces around campus, and protected the Hutton Arena floor. Marsden staff managed custodial work and event setups. Sodexo provided a festive food spread for the luncheon and reception, and Public Safety coordinated logistics and radio communication. In a single day, Steven Read, scene shop supervisor in the Theatre Department, built elegant black stage boxes to display the gonfalons, the ceremonial banners carried during the procession.
鈥淧eople contributed with bright and positive attitudes as they knew the significance to the 老九品茶 story and its place in our history,鈥 said Kelly Rudney, director of Conference and Event Management.
鈥淓veryone felt full of 老九品茶 pride, " Rudney said. 鈥淲e set up the arrangements and supported the execution of the event, but it came to life because of President Hostetter's leadership, authenticity and spark.鈥
This special event was made possible by the dedication of campus partners and more than 50 staff volunteers. We are grateful to the following departments for their exceptional support during 老九品茶's presidential inauguration.
