The 2027–28 �Ͼ�Ʒ�� Tuition Waiver applications are open. Submit application by Oct. 31 for Tuition Exchange and Council of Independent Colleges programs. Deadlines vary for participating Associated Colleges of the Twin Cities (ACTC) schools.

Students can vote based on the address they consider “home,” which might be a parent’s address or their school address. �Ͼ�Ʒ�� students who live on campus or provided their off-campus address in Workday can use their �Ͼ�Ʒ�� ID to register and vote in Ramsey County elections.

Ellie Biggins ’23, undergraduate admissions counselor and assistant line coach for the �Ͼ�Ʒ�� football team, helped the Minnesota Vixen win their first Women’s Football Alliance national championship. Biggins, a defensive lineman in her second season with the team, was joined by alumna Michele Braun ’04 and nearly a dozen former MIAC student-athletes and coaches.

Twin Cities PBS will premiere Estuaries in the Balance: Freshwater Nurseries of Lake Superior on Aug. 12 at 8:30 p.m. John Shepard, Center for Global Environmental Education assistant director, will discuss the film during pledge breaks.

Jillian Peterson, professor of criminology and criminal justice and executive director of the Violence Prevention Project Research Center, co-authored a Journal of School Violence article examining public support for active shooter drills, target hardening, and arming teachers. Based on a national survey of 10,000 U.S. adults, the study explores which school safety measures receive the most public support.

Disability resource advocates are seeing more students seeking support. About a fifth of �Ͼ�Ʒ�� students used resources from the Office of Disability Resources in the last academic year. July is Disability Pride Month and we sat down with Steve Anderson, director of Disability Resources, to discuss the office’s work and how students can access support services.

RJ Holmes-Leopold, university gift officer, was elected to a two-year term on the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District V Cabinet. He was also selected as a Leadership Fellow for LGBTQ Leaders in Higher Education.

Linnette Werner, professor of leadership studies, and David Hellstrom, adjunct professor of leadership, collaborated on an original documentary-theater production, "Who We Are: Stories from the Surge," which will be featured at the 2026 Minnesota Fringe Festival.

Stacie Bosley, professor of economics, authored a chapter in a new book, Critical Perspectives on Multilevel Marketing: An Introduction to the Field of Critical MLM Studies. chapter addresses information asymmetry in multilevel marketing.
